Aparna Industrial Engineers

We are tucked away in Shankar Estate, near CTM. It’s an industrial area, so there are always trucks moving and the sound of machines. Our place is A-158. It’s not the easiest place to find if you aren't from around here. We have some lathes and some old equipment that still works better than the new stuff. Most of our days are spent fixing things or making small parts. It’s greasy work. My overalls are always stained with oil. We’ve been here since the estate was much smaller. Now it’s crowded and noisy. We have a few guys who have been with us for twenty years. They know the machines better than anyone. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. You just walk in and find us at the back. We do a lot of custom work that the big shops won't touch. It takes time and sometimes we get frustrated when a part doesn't fit right. We just keep at it until it works. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that’s our main break. It’s a practical life. We don’t care much for fancy titles. We just want to get the job done so the customer can get their machine running again. It’s what we know how to do. Sometimes we stay late because a job needs finishing. The lights in the estate are a bit dim at night, but we have our own work lamps. It’s just how we live. We share our space with a stray cat who likes to sleep on the scrap metal.
