We are based right in Bhadra, which is the heart of the old city. If you’ve ever been to Bhadra, you know how crowded and lively it is. Ahmedabad Peoples Co Bank is tucked into this historical area, surrounded by vendors and old buildings. It’s a bit of a maze to get here if you aren't used to the narrow streets and the constant flow of people. Our building has that old-fashioned feel to it. Inside, it’s often busy with people from the nearby markets coming in to drop off their daily earnings. We don't have much in the way of modern frills. The desks are old, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it works for us. We like being in the center of all that history. You can see the Bhadra Fort nearby, and the whole place smells like street food and dust. Our customers are mostly local traders who have been banking with us for a long time. There is a lot of trust involved here. We don't use much fancy talk. We just handle the cash, sign the papers, and keep the records straight. It’s a noisy, hectic place to work, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The energy of the Bhadra market keeps us going through the day and there is always something happening right outside our doors.
