You can find Aegis Engineering Co. Pvt. Ltd. over at 90/7, Phase I, F Road in the G.I.D.C Industrial Estate at Vatva. It’s right across from Rose Mount India Ltd, which is a big landmark people use to find us. We’ve got a post box, number 70, but half the time the mailman just drops things off at the front gate anyway. The area is always busy with tempos and lorries moving in and out of the estate. Our place has a large grey gate that’s a bit hard to open if you don't know the trick to it. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of machinery and people talking over the noise. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some old calendars on the walls and a few plastic chairs in the waiting area. The floor is concrete and has some oil stains from years of work. It’s a large space, but it always feels a bit cramped because of all the parts and tools lying around. We usually eat lunch together in the small break area near the back. It’s not a corporate office with carpets and glass walls. It’s an engineering shop. We deal with a lot of grease and metal filings. Sometimes the overhead lights hum, but we’ve gotten used to it. We just stay busy with the tasks at hand and try to keep the workflow moving through the shop every day. It's a lot of work but we manage fine.
