Shriomshanti Farmer Producer Company Limited is out in Garhi Udayraj, which is a village in the Bah area of Agra. We are located at Khasra No. 58/1. It is quite far from the Taj Mahal and all the tourists. Out here, it is just open fields and hard work. We have a lot of peace and quiet, which is why the name suits us. We are a collective of farmers who wanted to do things a bit more professionally. Usually, we just grow our crops and hope for the best at the local mandi. Now, with the company, we try to be a bit more organized. The land at Khasra 58/1 is where we keep our supplies and meet up to talk. Bah can be a very dry place, so we spend a lot of time worrying about water and irrigation. We are not experts in business, we are experts in farming. We have had to learn how to keep ledgers and file papers, which was quite a headache at first. We are just local people trying to make a living from the earth. There are no big bosses here, just the members who all have a say. We don't have a website or anything like that, just our registered name and this little spot in Garhi Udayraj. We hope to keep the village tradition of farming alive for the next generation.
