Royal Hair Dreser

This shop is located at Bodla in Agra, right near the Maruti State area. It’s Shop Number 2, so it’s easy to spot when you are walking down the street in Shah Ganj. I named it Royal Hair Dreser a long time ago. It is just a small room where I spend most of my waking hours. The walls are painted a light color to keep it feeling bright, though the paint is peeling a bit near the ceiling. I have two chairs and a small table where I keep my combs and scissors. Every morning, I sweep the front of the shop and sprinkle some water to keep the dust down. Agra gets very dusty especially with all the traffic near Bodla. My customers are mostly local workers and residents who want a quick trim without any fuss. I keep a radio on the shelf that plays old songs while I work. It helps pass the time when things are slow. I don't have a big sign or anything, just the name on the shutter. People find me because I've been here for years. Sometimes my brother comes to help me on busy days like Sundays when everyone wants to look sharp for the coming week. It’s a humble place, but it pays the bills and I like talking to the people who come in. We just focus on doing a decent job every day and keeping the customers coming back.
