Our company, Kunvarpalsingh Dhakre Farmer Producer Company Limited, is located over in Jamal Nagar village, specifically in the Chamraula area. We run things from Gyan Singh’s place. It’s in the Etmadpur part of Agra. This isn't a big city business. It's really just a group of us from the village trying to handle our farming business better. We have lived here all our lives and know these fields pretty well. Jamal Nagar is a small place, so we mostly see the same faces every day. We got this company started because it felt like a better way to manage what we grow. There's a lot of talk about how farmers should work together, so we actually did it. We handle a lot of different tasks, from getting seeds to figuring out how to get our stuff to the market without losing too much money on the way. The roads out here in Etmadpur aren't always great, especially during the monsoon, but we get by. We don't have some big boss in a suit. It is just us, the local farmers, sitting around a table or in the field making decisions. It’s a practical way to live. We just want to make sure our work counts for something at the end of the harvest. It’s tough sometimes, but being together as a company makes it a bit easier to handle the bad years.
