Kheragarh Fed Women Farmer Producer Company Limited is a bit of a special group here in Guru Govind Nagar. We are based at Rajkumari Tiwari’s house, specifically at Khasra No 503. It is a group mainly run by the women who do the hard work in the fields around Kheragarh. For a long time, we just did our own thing, but we saw that we could get more done if we organized. It is not always easy balancing the farm work with everything else at home, but we manage. Most afternoons, you can find a group of us sitting at Rajkumari’s place, going over what we need to buy for the next season. We don't have any big investors or fancy marketing plans. We just have our own hands and the knowledge passed down to us. Guru Govind Nagar is our home, and we want to make it a better place for our kids. Sometimes the men help out with the heavy lifting, but we make the decisions for the company. It’s a very practical arrangement. We deal with the seeds, the water, and the selling. Sometimes the markets are low and we have to be careful, but we help each other out. It is a community thing more than a business thing, honestly. We are just trying to make sure the women farmers of Kheragarh get the respect and the money they deserve for their toil.
