Being near the SBI Bank makes it a bit easier for people to give directions to our spot. Our main work is handling ticket reservations. It sounds simple, but with the way train and bus schedules go in India, it can be a real headache sometimes. We sit here at the desk, looking at the screens, trying to find seats for people who need to get home or go on a holiday. The office is right in the thick of things near the river. It gets dusty and loud outside, but that’s just how it is in this part of Agra. We don’t do much advertising; mostly it’s just people from the neighborhood or those who have heard about us through word of mouth. We deal with a lot of paperwork and computer entries every day. Some days the server for the tickets is down and we just have to wait it out with the customers. It’s a small operation, really. We just focus on getting the tickets booked correctly so there are no issues at the station. It’s practical work, and we’ve been doing it at this same address for a long time.
