Hotam Farmer Producer Company Limited

Starting at Ramnaresh’s place in Abhuapura. We live around Kiraoli. Farmers here have a lot of trouble with middle men. We decided to get together as Hotam Farmer Producer Company Limited. It’s just us local people. No big office or anything. We meet and talk about seeds. Sometimes we buy things together so it costs less. In Agra, the ground is okay but you have to work it hard. We are just trying to make things a bit easier for the families here. There are plenty of us now. When one person has a problem with their crop, others help out. It isn't anything fancy. We deal with the daily stuff like tractors and water. If you come to the village, just ask for the farm group. We don't have a big sign but everyone knows where Ramnaresh stays. It is better than working all alone. We hope to get better prices at the mandi this year. Last year was tough because of the weather. That is why we stay together. It's just simple farming work. We take care of our own land and help the neighbors when they need it. The post office in Kiraoli is where we get our mail usually. This is how we live and work in our part of Agra. We keep the books in a simple ledger. Nothing complicated at all.
