Gutila Krishak Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Naubari, right along the Shamshabad Road. Most of what we do happens around Rambabu Tomar’s place. It’s a busy spot especially when the harvest is coming in and everyone is moving bags around. We are just a bunch of local farmers who decided it was easier to work together than try to do everything alone. You know how it is with farming, one day everything is fine and the next day a machine breaks down or the market price drops for no reason. We spend a lot of time just talking things through and seeing who has what available. The dirt on Shamshabad Road gets everywhere during the dry months, but we are used to it by now. It isn't a corporate setup with suits and meetings. It’s more like standing around a tractor and deciding which field to do next. We grow what the soil allows and try to keep things moving. Some of the younger guys are learning the ropes while the older ones still remember how things were forty years ago. It’s a mix of old ways and just trying to get by today. We don't have much to say about ourselves other than we work hard and hope the weather stays decent. That is pretty much the whole story of our group in Naubari. We just take things as they come and try to do right by the soil and our families.
