About Devesh Tiwari's Photography – Tourism in Agra
I’m based right here in Agra. Most people think of the monuments when they hear the name, and yeah, I spend a lot of time taking pictures around those spots. But there’s a lot more to the city than just the Taj. I’ve been carrying a camera around for years now. It started out as a hobby when I was younger and then people started asking me to do their family events or take some portraits for them. My setup is pretty simple. I don’t have a massive studio with white lights and fancy backdrops. I prefer being out in the city or at someone’s house where they feel more comfortable and natural. The light in Agra can be really nice in the early morning, so I’m usually up and out before the sun. I spend a lot of time sitting at my desk later on, looking at the shots and picking the ones that didn't come out blurry or dark. It's a lot of sitting and clicking through files. Sometimes my back and neck hurt from carrying the heavy gear all day, but you get used to it after a while. I’ve lived in Agra my whole life, so I know the little alleys and the spots where the tourists don't usually go. I just try to catch things as they happen. If someone looks happy or the light hits a building just right, I take the shot. I’m just a local guy with a camera doing what I know how to do.
