Down on Motilal Nehru Road, you can find our little shop at 16/10. We are right by Ghatia Azam Khan Chowk, which is a place that always has something going on. Being near Taj Press means we get a lot of people passing by all through the day. Belon Hair & Beauty is basically a small family-run operation. I grew up in Agra and I’ve seen this neighborhood change a lot over the years, but the way we do things stays pretty much the same. We do hair and some basic beauty stuff for the ladies around here. It’s not one of those expensive places you see in the malls. We keep our prices fair because we know the people living around the chowk aren't looking to spend a fortune. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but the mirrors are clean and the scissors are sharp. That’s what really matters when you’re coming in for a service. Sometimes the tea stall next door brings over a few cups while we’re working on a customer. It creates a very relaxed atmosphere where nobody is in a massive rush. We listen to the radio and talk about the weather or whatever is in the news. It’s a humble place, and we like it that way. Most of our customers have been coming to us for years and they don’t expect anything fancy, just honest work.
