Khodiyar Engineers

You can find Khodiyar Engineers over at Plot No. 363 on Road No. 8 in the Kathwada GIDC area. It’s a typical engineering workshop. We have various tools and machines spread out over the floor, and there is usually a layer of metal dust on most surfaces. We don't mind it much because it shows we’ve been working. Most of our days are spent taking measurements and making sure the parts we are making are right. It’s a lot of manual work and checking things twice. The Kathwada area is quite big, but Road No. 8 is a familiar place for us. We know most of the people who work in the neighboring plots. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone to answer the phones with a script. Usually, someone just wipes their hands on a rag and picks up the line if they hear it over the noise of the machines. It’s honest work. Sometimes things go wrong, a tool breaks or a measurement is off, and we just have to fix it and move on. We don't make a big deal out of things. We just want to finish the job so we can start on the next one. The shop can get quite warm in the summer, but we keep the fans going and just get on with it until it’s time to lock up and head home for the night.
