Industrial Engineering

Over at Plot No. 68/1/P in Phase-1, GIDC, you will find P. V. S. Engineers. It is a bit of a tucked-away spot, but we like it that way. The building is made of grey brick and has a heavy iron gate that is hard to pull shut at night. Inside, there are several workbenches that have been scratched and dented over the years. We have a radio that plays old songs in the background, though it is hard to hear when the drills are going. Vatva is a crowded area, so we have to be careful with how we park our scooters. Most of us live nearby, so the commute isn't too bad unless the main road is blocked. We have a ritual of drinking tea at ten in the morning and four in the afternoon, no matter how busy we are. It is a good time to catch up and talk about nothing in particular. The walls are covered in calendars from three years ago and some old photos of the team. We don't have a receptionist; you just walk in and yell for someone if you need help. It is a very informal environment. We just do our engineering work and try to keep the machines in good shape. It is not a glamorous job, but it is what we know and we have been doing it this way for a long time.
