Microcraft Engineering

Microcraft Engineering is based at Plot No. 866/6/7 in the GIDC. Estate. We deal with smaller parts and more precise work than some of the heavy industries around us. The workshop has a lot of lathes and milling machines that require a bit of focus to operate correctly. It is not as loud as a steel mill, but there is a constant hum and the clicking of metal on metal. We have to keep the lighting bright so we can see what we are doing with the smaller measurements. The floor is usually a bit greasy from the cutting oil, and there are always buckets of metal scraps under the machines. We have been in this spot for a while, and the layout of the workshop has stayed mostly the same. Our team is small, just a handful of guys who know how to read the drawings and set up the machines. We don't really have a formal dress code; everyone just wears what is comfortable for a day of shop work. Sometimes the material deliveries arrive late because the driver got lost in the estate, but otherwise, things run pretty smoothly. We don't spend much time on the phone unless we are talking to a supplier about a late shipment. It is a quiet, busy kind of place where the day goes by faster than you expect.
