Shibu Aluminium Industries

Our place is at 77/3 on the Main Road, right along Gandhi Marg. It’s a good spot because everyone passes by it at some point during the day. Shibu Aluminium Industries isn’t a very big operation, but we stay busy with whatever comes our way. The front area is usually filled with stacks of aluminium sections and scrap pieces that we need to sort through. It can look a bit messy to someone walking by, but we know exactly where every piece is. The traffic on Gandhi Marg is constant, so there’s always a background hum of engines and shouting. We start early, usually before the shops next door even open their shutters. The floor is mostly concrete and it’s covered in fine silver dust from all the cutting and grinding we do. We don’t have much in the way of a formal office, just a desk near the back where we keep the bills and the phone. Sometimes people just walk in off the street asking for small bits of metal, and we try to help them out if we can. It’s a straightforward business. We don’t try to make it sound like more than it is. Just a few guys working with metal in a shop on the main road. In the evenings, we shut the big rolling door and head home, ready to do it again the next day.
