Kay Iron Works Pvt. Ltd. has been over on Railway Road in Yamuna Nagar for a long time. Being so close to the railway line means we hear the trains going past all day long, which you just get used to after a week or so. Yamuna Nagar is a hub for this kind of work, so we fit right in with the landscape of iron and timber. Our building is solid and old-fashioned, made of heavy bricks and big steel doors that are hard to push open in the winter. We don't have a modern office with glass walls or fancy air conditioning. We mostly just have big open spaces where the metal gets moved around. The staff here are locals who have been with us for years, and they don't care much for corporate titles. We just do the work that needs doing. There is always a layer of soot on the windows and the sound of hammers hitting metal. It’s a honest way to make a living, even if it leaves you tired at the end of the shift. We don't try to sound like something we aren't. We are just a local iron works on Railway Road, trying to keep the machines running and the orders moving out of the yard. It's a loud and dusty place, but it's ours and it keeps the lights on for everyone involved.
