Joyasree Restaurant

Joyasree Restaurant is sitting right on Airport Road, directly opposite the main gate of the Agartala Airport. It is a very convenient spot for anyone who has just landed or is waiting for someone to arrive on a flight. You can hear the planes taking off and landing from here, which is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We started this place because we saw how many people needed a quick bite near the terminal. It is not a polished or high-end dining hall, just a simple local restaurant with basic tables and chairs. We spend a lot of our morning prep time getting the tea ready and making sure the kitchen is stocked for the day. Because we are so close to the gate, we often see people with their luggage piled up near the door while they eat. The floor needs a lot of mopping because of all the feet coming in and out from the dusty road. We don't have a corporate office or anything like that; we just manage everything right from the counter. It is just me and a couple of helpers doing the work. Sometimes we run out of certain items if a lot of people come in at once, but we just do our best to keep up. It is a plain, honest way to make a living in Agartala. We like being part of the airport buzz and meeting travelers from different places. We have many stories from travelers.
