Haat Gamhariya Agro Fed Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based at House Number 25 in the village of Sanmriglindi, which is part of the Jamdih area in Haat Gamhariya. We are way out in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand, where the landscape is beautiful but the farming can be quite a challenge. We set up this producer company because we wanted to have more control over how our crops are handled and sold. It’s a real local effort, with everyone from the village putting in a bit of work. We don't have a fancy office building, just the house in Sanmriglindi where we keep all our records and meet to talk. West Singhbhum has its own way of doing things, and we try to stick to that. We spend most of our days out in the sun, making sure the fields are looking okay and the harvest is coming along. It’s not a glamorous life, and we certainly don't sound like those people from the big city offices. We talk about rain, soil, and the price of diesel mostly. Sometimes the trucks don't show up when they are supposed to, or the seeds we get aren't as good as they promised. We just deal with those things one day at a time. It’s an honest way to live, and we are proud to be part of this little community here in Jamdih. It takes a lot of grit to keep going, but we don't know any other way.
