Wellcome Fisheries Limited is based at 1/136 in Vandram Village, which is part of the Undi Mandal in West Godavari District. We are surrounded by water and fields, which is exactly where we need to be. It’s a rural area, and the pace of life is a bit slower than the big cities, but the work itself is never-ending. We spend our days out by the ponds or in the sheds, dealing with the daily realities of running a fishery. There’s a lot of mud, a lot of water, and you’re usually sweating by ten in the morning. We’ve been part of Vandram Village for a long time, and we know most of our neighbors by their first names. It’s the kind of place where people stop to talk over the fence while they’re working. We don't have a big corporate headquarters; our office is often just a desk in the corner of a warehouse. We focus on the health of the fish and the quality of the water, rather than writing fancy reports. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate, and we have to scramble to protect the stocks, which can be stressful. But for the most part, it’s a steady, quiet life out here in West Godavari. We are just local people who know this land and these waters, and we’re happy to keep the business going for the next generation. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do.
