M.S.C. Marine Exporters

We've been here in Seesali, Kalla Mandalam for a while now. Most days are busy getting stuff ready to move out. M.S.C. Marine Exporters isn't a fancy office with big glass walls or anything. It’s mostly just us working with the local catch and making sure it gets where it needs to go. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, or the trucks are late, but that's just part of the job here. We handle the paperwork and the packing. People ask why we stay in this spot, but it’s close to what we need. It’s noisy and smells like the sea, which I guess you'd expect. There are a few of us who have been doing this for years. We know the routes and the folks who bring the fish in. It isn't always smooth, and sometimes we're staying late to finish a load, but the work gets done. My desk is usually covered in papers and some old coffee cups. We just try to keep things moving day by day. If you come by the address, you’ll probably see us loading something or checking the crates. It’s not a quiet place. We don't spend much time on fancy talk, we just focus on the containers. It's a living. We've seen the area change a bit, but the work stays the same mostly. Just honest labor in Kalla Mandalam.
