U P Pan Bhandar

We are located in Uttam Nagar, specifically in Jeevan Park near the SOM Bazar area. It is a very lively part of town, especially on the days when the local market is set up. My family came from U P years ago, which is why we named the shop this way. We wanted to bring that specific taste of pan that we grew up with. The shop is quite small, but we make sure we have all the right ingredients. We spend a lot of time cleaning the leaves and preparing the different mixtures. It’s a bit of a messy job, but it is worth it when you see people enjoying it. The street is always loud with bikes and people walking by. We have a few jars of sweets and snacks on the shelf too, mostly for the children who live in the houses nearby. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use a small lamp, but we don't close. People know we are here. It is not a corporate chain or anything like that. Just me and sometimes my nephew helping out. We talk to everyone who stops by. It’s more about the community than just selling things. We have been through many summers and winters in this same spot. If you are walking through SOM Bazar, you will see us right there. We stay until about eleven at night usually, unless it's a very quiet day.
