Sopaan Cateters

Our office and kitchen are over at F-94 in Kirti Nagar. It’s an industrial sort of area, so there’s always trucks and bikes moving around the streets. We’ve been doing this catering thing for Sopaan Cateters for a good while. Most of the time, we are busy loading up the delivery vans with big steel containers of hot food. We don't have a showroom or a place for people to sit and eat. It’s just a workspace where the actual cooking and cleaning happens. We do a lot of small family functions and some bigger events too. Kirti Nagar is a central spot for us to get to almost everywhere in Delhi. The staff here is mostly family or people who live in the nearby blocks. We start very early in the morning, usually long before the sun is really up. There’s a lot of chopping vegetables and stirring big pots involved in our day. It's not a glamorous job, especially when you're cleaning up greasy floors after a long night. We just try to keep the kitchen clean and the food ready for the delivery time. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just cook and take it where it needs to go. Sometimes things go wrong, like a van breaking down, but we figure it out.
