Sheikh Fabrication & Engineering Work

We are located in Fateh Nagar, just a short walk from the railway station. You can actually hear the trains rattling by all day while we work at Sheikh Fabrication & Engineering Work. The shop is usually full of the smell of cut metal and welding smoke. It is a hands-on kind of place. We don’t have a front office with air conditioning or anything like that. Most of the time, we are out on the floor with the machines. We take on all sorts of engineering jobs, from fixing small parts to making bigger steel structures. The floor is made of concrete and it’s covered in scratches and bits of iron. We’ve got some heavy tools that have been with us since we started. People from around the neighborhood bring us things that need fixing, and we also do bigger orders for local builders. It gets hot in the summer, so we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through. Usually, there are three or four of us working at once. We take our tea breaks together sitting on whatever is handy. It isn't a flashy business, just a place where we put in the hours and get the metal work done. If you come by, you’ll probably see us covered in some grease or dust. That’s just how the job is at our workshop near the tracks.
