Plot No. 453 in Block Bn of Raghubir Nagar is where you will find us. It’s a bit of a maze getting here if you don’t know the area well. The workshop is usually filled with the smell of machine oil and metal shavings. We have a few old lathes and some newer equipment that we use for the engineering work. The floor is stained from years of spills, and there is a specific spot near the back door where the roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains hard. We just put a bucket there and keep working. The neighbors are mostly other small shops, so there is always someone hammering or grinding something nearby. We keep the main shutter open for light and air, so we see everyone walking by on their way to the market. It’s not a quiet place, but it’s our place. Sometimes a customer comes in with a broken part and asks if we can fix it on the spot. If we aren't too busy, we try to help them out right then and there. The benches are cluttered with wrenches, calipers, and scraps of paper with scribbled measurements. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the phone rings, whoever is closest to the desk picks it up with their greasy hands. It’s just honest work in a busy part of the city. We just stay at it until the job is finished.
