My workplace is located at Uttam Nagar Hastal Colony, specifically at A-502-3. It is tucked away in a residential area, so it stays a bit quieter than the main markets nearby. I have been running things from here for a while, mostly handling various local tasks and paperwork that people in the neighborhood need help with. The room I use is pretty basic, with a wooden desk that has some scratches on it and a few chairs for whoever stops by. I spend a lot of my time writing in registers and keeping track of different records by hand. I find that I remember things better when I write them down on paper instead of just typing them into a computer. Sometimes the neighborhood kids play cricket right outside the door, and the sound of the ball hitting the bat is the background noise for my afternoon. I don't have any big signs or advertisements hanging up because most people who need me already know where to find the building. It is a steady routine of answering the phone and helping people who walk in with questions. The power goes out occasionally, so I keep a rechargeable light on the shelf just in case. It is just me working here, making sure everything is in order and that the daily chores get finished before I head home for dinner. It is a simple life, but I like the independence of it.
