Ratan Dairy

Ratan Dairy is over at F-33 in Kirti Nagar. We have been here for a while, providing milk and dairy products to the people living nearby. My day starts really early, usually around four or five in the morning when the milk trucks arrive. It is still dark outside then, and the air is quite cool. We have to move the heavy cans and get everything ready before the first customers show up at six. Most people want their milk early so they can make tea before work. We also keep curd, paneer, and sometimes some butter if the supply is good. The shop is small and smells like fresh milk all the time, which I suppose is a good thing. The floor is always a bit wet from the ice we use to keep things cold. We don't have a big fancy fridge, just a couple of chest freezers that hum loudly all day. Kirti Nagar is a nice enough place, and we know most of the families on this block. Some of the kids come in with their parents, and I've seen them grow up over the years. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here at F-33. It is hard work with no days off, even on holidays, because people always need their milk. But we are used to the routine by now.
