Ramsons Engineering Works

The shop is over in Mayapuri, right in Phase-2 at C-74. If you know this area, you know it’s always loud with the sound of metal and machines. We’ve been running this engineering work for a long time. There is usually grease on everything and the smell of oil in the air, but that’s just how an industrial workshop looks. We spend most of our time at the lathes or fixing parts that people bring in from other factories. Some days it is just constant grinding and welding. It’s not a clean job, but someone has to do it so the machines keep running. My hands are rarely clean by the end of the shift. We see all kinds of people coming through here, from big truck drivers to small shop owners needing a specific part made. Mayapuri is a tough place to work sometimes because of the dust and the noise, but it’s where all the real work happens in this part of Delhi. We don’t have a big office or anything, just the floor where the tools are. If the power goes out, everything stops and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It’s a simple life here. We just focus on the job at hand and try to get the dimensions right. If a piece isn't fitting, we work on it until it does. That’s pretty much the whole story of what we do every day in the shop.
