Ram Engineering Works

Ram Engineering Works is tucked away in Phase-II of the Mayapuri Industrial Area. We are at C/07, which is basically a standard unit like many others around here. Mayapuri is a busy place, always something happening, always someone looking for a part or a fix. We have been in this spot for a good while now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we spend more time looking at the work than the walls. It’s a lot of metal work and mechanical stuff. The grease gets everywhere, on our clothes, on the tools, even on the door handles. You get used to the smell of oil and burnt metal after a day or two. It’s loud, but you stop hearing the noise after a few hours of being here. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a small corner with a table where we talk to people who stop by. Sometimes it gets crowded when a few deliveries arrive at the same time and we have to shuffle things around. The street outside is usually lined with vehicles, so parking can be a bit of a headache if you don't know the trick to it. We just focus on getting through the pile of work on the bench each morning. It’s hard work, but it’s what we do. Most of the guys have been here since they were young. We’re just a small part of the big industrial engine that is Mayapuri. We try to keep things moving and get home.
