Prince Pan Bhandar

Our shop, Prince Pan Bhandar, is right by the Milan Cinema in the Super Market area of Moti Nagar Industrial Area. Being near the cinema means we see all kinds of people coming through. When a big movie lets out, the whole sidewalk gets packed. We have to work really fast then. During the day, it is mostly workers from the industrial side stopping by for a break. It is a dusty area sometimes because of all the trucks, but we keep our counter wiped down. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside. We have some old posters on the wall and a small radio that plays the news. I’ve worked here since I was much younger. It’s a steady job and I like being my own boss in a way. The shelves are packed with everything we need. We don't use a computer or anything like that; we just remember what people like. It's simpler that way. Sometimes the traffic near the Super Market gets really jammed up, and we just watch the cars from our little window. It’s an interesting place to be. You see everyone from rich folks in big cars to the laborers walking home. We treat everyone the same when they stand at our counter. It’s just a small business trying to do its part in Moti Nagar. We keep it open until the last show finishes at the cinema across the street.
