Operating out of New Delhi means you have to be ready for the traffic every single morning. We start early here because the food business does not wait for anyone. The vans are usually lined up before the sun is even fully up. It is a lot of checking lists and making sure the crates are stacked right so nothing gets squashed. Some days are a bit chaotic when a shipment comes in late or the weather turns bad. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to drivers and people waiting for their deliveries. It is not a quiet job. There is always someone shouting a question across the warehouse or the sound of a shutter going up. We handle a lot of different items and keeping track of it all takes most of our energy. The office is just a small corner with a couple of desks and a lot of registers. We do not have any big corporate meetings or anything. We just drink our chai and look at the schedules. Delhi is a big place and getting from one side to the other is always a gamble with the roads. You get used to the pace after a while. We have been doing this for some time now and the routine stays pretty much the same. It is just about getting the food where it needs to go every day without too much fuss and keeping the shelves moving.
