Leela Ram Meat Shop

Leela Ram Meat Shop has been at Ramesh Nagar 19876 for a very long time. I get here very early in the morning, usually before the sun is even up, to get everything ready for the day. The shop is simple with some heavy wooden blocks and my set of knives that I keep sharp. It can be a messy job and there is a lot of cleaning involved, especially with the floors and the hooks. People from the neighborhood come by throughout the morning to get what they need for their lunch or dinner. I know most of them by name since they have been living around here as long as I have. We don't have any fancy displays or cooling cases, just the fresh stock that comes in and goes out quickly. The street outside can get quite narrow and busy with bikes. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with everyone talking at once. I spend most of my time behind the counter, cutting and weighing and wrapping everything in newspaper or plastic. It is physical work and my back usually aches by the time we close up in the afternoon. We do not do anything special, just provide meat to the locals who don't want to go all the way to the bigger markets. It is a steady life and it keeps us busy enough to get by.
