Khanna Engineering Works

The shop is located at Ramesh Nagar, specifically Shop No 12. Most people know we are near the Singh Sabha Gurdwara. You can usually hear the sound of the machines from the street. It’s not a quiet place at all. There’s always some metal being cut or something being fixed. The floor has those dark oil stains you expect in an engineering place. We spend most of the day in our work clothes. Ramesh Nagar gets quite crowded in the afternoons, especially with the market nearby. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to park right out front. The Gurdwara is a good landmark for people who haven't been here before. We've seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. The shop itself stays mostly the same. There are tools and scrap pieces everywhere. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the equipment, but we know where everything is. You have to be careful where you step. It’s just how Khanna Engineering Works operates. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just the workbench and the machines. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a quick break on the bench outside. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy. The light in the back flickers sometimes when the heavy machines start up. We should probably fix that soon. It’s just a normal day here, trying to get through the list of jobs people bring in.
