Up here at shop number 22 in the Choudhary Kishan Chand Complex, things stay pretty busy. We are on the first floor, so you have to walk up the stairs past the other shops in Jwala Heri Market. It is a loud place because Paschim Vihar always has people moving around outside. We have been in this spot for a while now. The shelves are mostly full and sometimes things get a bit dusty if we do not wipe them down every single morning. We spend a lot of our time just organizing the stock and talking to people who wander in after seeing the sign from the street. It is not a huge space, but it works for what we do here. Some days the lights flicker a bit, but we just get on with it. The market gets really packed on the weekends, making it hard to even find a place to park nearby. Inside the shop, it is a bit quieter than the main road. We keep a small kettle in the back for tea because the days can get long. Most of the people around here know us by now. We do not really do much fancy stuff, just keep the doors open and wait for customers. It feels like a second home after spending so many years in this building. The walls are a bit thin so we hear the neighbors too. It is just a normal shop life.
