K Rice International

K Rice International is tucked away in Tilak Nagar, right near the bank. It is a busy little corner of the neighborhood. Our days are mostly filled with the sound of heavy sacks being moved around and the smell of raw grain. We have been here for a while, and the locals know us as the place to go when they need their rice for the month. We do not do much advertising because the word of mouth around the market is enough for us. The shop is usually full of different varieties of rice in big open bags so people can see the grain and feel it. It is important to know what you are buying, so we let everyone take a good look. We get our shipments in regularly, and unloading the trucks is always a big task. My cousins and I handle most of the work ourselves. We keep a ledger on the small desk in the corner, and things can get pretty hectic when several people come in at once. It is not a fancy place, just a functional one with high ceilings and sturdy shelves. We talk to the customers about how the harvest was or which grain is cooking well lately. It is basic, honest work. We live close by, so this place feels like a second home to us. There is always a pot of tea going in the back for when things slow down.
