J S Plantain Leaf Merchants

Paschim Vihar is usually a busy part of Delhi, and our shop is right in the middle of it at No.73. We are up on the first floor, in BG-7, so you have to walk up the stairs. J S Plantain Leaf Merchants is where we spend most of our hours. Plantain leaves are delicate, so we spend a lot of time making sure they aren't getting torn or drying out too fast in the heat. It’s not like selling electronics; you have to be careful with the touch. Early mornings are the most hectic because that is when the fresh stock comes in from the trucks. We have to sort through everything while the city is still waking up. The space isn't huge, but we make it work by stacking things just right. Most of our regulars are local shopkeepers or people planning big family meals. They come up the stairs, check the quality, and we settle things right there. It can get a bit crowded on the first floor when multiple people arrive at once. Sometimes the humidity in Paschim Vihar makes the leaves stay fresh longer, which is a bit of luck for us. We don't use any fancy computers for everything, just some basic notebooks to keep track of who owes what. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. We’ve been at this address long enough that the postman doesn't even need to look at the number anymore when he drops things off.
