J. D. Engineering Works

If you come down to Hari Nagar and look for Street No. 2, you will find J. D. Engineering Works at BE- 343. It is a workshop environment, so don't expect it to be spotless. There is usually a bit of grease on the floor and the smell of metal in the air. We have been working out of this spot for a long time. The machines are old but they still run fine if you know how to handle them. We spend most of the day cutting, welding, or fixing parts that people bring in. It’s noisy and it gets hot, especially during the summer months. We don't really have an office in the traditional sense, just a small desk in the corner where we keep the bills and the phone. Most of the time, we are on our feet moving things around. The neighbors are other small shops and houses, so it feels like a real community. We take our breaks sitting on stools or just leaning against the workbench. It’s not a place for suits and ties. We wear work clothes that have seen better days. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought, so we stay until it’s finished. We don't do any big advertising or anything. People around here just know where we are if they need something made or repaired. It’s a simple life of manual work and making sure the measurements are right.
