Gupta Die Maker

Gupta Die Maker has been operating out of the DSIIDC complex in Kirti Nagar for a long time now. Our unit is C-25, and it is a place where we get our hands dirty every single day. Making dies is a very specific kind of work that requires a lot of patience and a steady hand. The shop is filled with various lathes and milling machines that have seen better days but still work perfectly. There are metal shavings all over the floor, and you have to be careful where you step. We spend hours looking at technical drawings and then trying to carve those shapes into hard steel. It is not a job for everyone because it is noisy and the light is not always the best. We do not do much advertising; people usually find us through word of mouth or because they have shops nearby in Kirti Nagar. The complex is always buzzing with other small manufacturers, so there is a sense of being part of a big community. We often share tools or advice with the guys next door. Sometimes a job goes wrong and we have to start all over again, which can be frustrating. But that is just the nature of the business. It feels good when we finish a difficult piece and it works the way it should. It is just us, our tools, and a lot of hard work. We have been here since the complex opened up.
