Shivaji Vihar is where we’ve set up shop, specifically at B-77. It’s a neighborhood where people are used to the sound of work being done. At G.P. Moulds & Tools, we spend our days surrounded by metal, lathes, and various bits of machinery. The floor is usually covered in a thin layer of metal shavings, and there’s always that lingering scent of machine oil in the air. We focus on making moulds and tools, which is repetitive work but it requires us to pay attention. We aren’t a giant factory; we’re more of a local operation where everyone knows each other’s names. Mornings usually start with a quick check of the machines and a cup of tea before the noise starts up. It can get pretty loud once everything is running, so we don't do much talking until the lunch break. We’ve got benches pushed up against the walls and shelves full of old templates we’ve made over the years. Some days are smoother than others, depending on how the equipment is behaving. If a machine breaks down, we fix it ourselves and keep going. We don’t have a fancy reception area or a person in a suit greeting people at the door. You just walk in and find us at the back. It’s basic, honest work that keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday without much fuss. We just like seeing the finished parts stacked up at the end of the shift.
