Gulaab Singh Pan

My name is Gulaab Singh and I’ve got this small pan shop at F 35 in Karampura. It’s not much to look at, just a tiny space tucked away, but it’s been my life for a long time. People around here know me well. Every morning, I come in early to get the leaves fresh and set up all the ingredients. I’ve got my jars of supari, gulkand, and all the different spices lined up. It’s a quiet spot most of the day, but once evening hits, the crowd starts coming. Men from the neighborhood stop by for a chat and a pan after their dinner. I’ve seen kids grow up and start coming here themselves. I don't use any fancy machines or anything; I just make everything by hand right there on the counter. The Karampura area has changed a lot since I first opened, with more traffic and new faces, but my little corner stays pretty much the same. I try to keep the place tidy, though it’s hard when you’re working with so many small things. I don’t do any big advertising. People just find me by word of mouth or because they live nearby. If you’re ever walking past F 35, you’ll probably see me sitting there, wrapping up a leaf for someone. It’s a simple business, but it keeps me busy and connected to the people around here. I usually stay until the last customer leaves at night.
