At Fab Flavours And Fragrances P Ltd, our place is at 70-A Rama Road. It’s an area that smells like a lot of different things depending on what we are mixing that day. Sometimes it's sweet like fruit, and other times it's a bit sharp. We have a small lab area and a warehouse section where we keep all the base ingredients. It’s not the cleanest looking place in the world because we are always pouring things and moving barrels around. The floors have a few stains, and the shelves are packed with little glass bottles. We aren't a big corporate giant; we are just a group of people who know a lot about how things should smell and taste. Most of our morning is spent checking the batches from the day before. If a scent isn't right, we have to start over, which is a bit of a pain but that’s how it goes. The Rama Road area is busy with lots of small factories, so there's always a truck blocking the driveway or someone shouting for a delivery. We don't have a fancy lobby or any marketing materials to hand out. If you come in, you'll probably find us in our aprons, weighing out powders or mixing liquids in big steel vats. It's hands-on work and we usually go home smelling like a mix of ten different perfumes. We like the work because it's different every day and keeps us on our toes for the next order.
