As A Computer Operator

You can find me working at Nw 163 in Vishnu Garden, New Delhi. I work as a computer operator here. It’s a pretty simple setup with a couple of machines and a lot of wires. Vishnu Garden is a busy neighborhood, and there is always something going on outside. I spend most of my day sitting in front of the screen, typing away or updating records. The glare from the monitor can be a bit much by the afternoon, so I try to take breaks to look out the window. It’s not a fancy office with big glass walls. It’s just a room where we get the work done. I have my favorite chair that is finally broken in just right. There is a small tea stall just a few steps away, and the smell of ginger tea often comes through the door. I handle a lot of data entry and different tasks that people need. Sometimes the internet is slow and I have to wait around, but usually, it’s just one thing after another. My workspace is a bit cluttered with notes and old keyboards. It’s a very Delhi kind of place. You hear the scooters and the vendors calling out all day long. I’ve gotten used to the noise and it actually feels too quiet when I go home. It’s just me and the computer for most of the day.
