The shop is at H. No -3-53/2 in Thimmrainipahad, which is part of Chennaraopet in the Warangal district. It’s a hot job, especially with the welding torches going all day. You’ll hear the sound of metal hitting metal before you even see the shop. We do a lot of repairs on farm equipment and gates. There’s always a pile of scrap iron in the corner that we use for smaller jobs. The floor is concrete and covered in black dust and tiny bits of metal. We wear our masks and gloves, but the heat still gets to you. We’ve been here in Warangal for a long time. People bring us things that are snapped in half and ask if we can join them back together. We don't have any fancy showroom. It's just a workspace with some heavy machines and a lot of tools hanging on the walls. Chennaraopet is a rural area, so we help a lot of farmers with their tractors and plows. It’s hard on the eyes and the back, but it's a good trade. We don't talk much while working because of the noise. We just get the weld clean and make sure it holds. It’s a simple life of fire and steel here. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to wait, but that’s just part of working in this area. We take it as it comes and keep the hammers moving.
