Vijayalakshmi Flyash Bricks is over in the Pendurthi area. Our address is 2-51 in Balaji Nagar. It has become a very busy neighborhood lately with all the new buildings going up. We have a big pile of fly ash that stays in the corner of the yard. The bricks we make are grey and they stack up really flat and neat. It is a different kind of work than the old-fashioned red brick kilns. We use a machine to press the mixture out into shapes. It is a mechanical process that requires a lot of watching. Sometimes the machine breaks down and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing it with grease and old tools. That is the most frustrating part of the job. Balaji Nagar is a decent place for a yard like this because we have enough room for the big lorries to turn around without hitting anything. We are not trying to be the biggest company in the state. We just want to get through the day's production without too many problems. The dust is a bit much sometimes, so we often wear cloths over our faces while we work. My hands are always rough from handling the heavy blocks all day long. We do not have a big website. If someone needs bricks in Pendurthi, they usually just find us by driving past our gate.
