Sri Vijaya Durga Bricks

Out here in Thagarapuvalasa, things move at their own pace. We are right on Bangalametta Main Road, specifically at 3-6-521. If you pass by, you’ll see the stacks of bricks lined up. It’s a lot of red and orange under the sun. We start early because the heat gets too much by lunchtime. Making bricks is just what we do. It involves a lot of mud, water, and fire. The kiln is always going, and there’s that specific smell of burnt clay in the air. People from the nearby villages stop their tractors here to load up. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. It’s mostly just family and some local workers who have been with us for a long time. The main road is usually full of bikes and the occasional bus, so it stays noisy. We spend our days checking the moisture in the clay or making sure the stacks don’t lean too much. Sometimes a customer wants to talk for an hour about their new house, so we sit on the wooden bench and listen. It’s simple work, really. You get dirty, you work hard, and you see something solid being made. The address is easy to find if you know the Thagarapuvalasa area. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, just keeping the fire burning and moving the bricks out to whoever needs them. I usually have to wipe the dust off my desk every morning.
