We are located on the ground floor of Potluri Classic, right on the Main Road in Dwaraka Nagar. It’s units 5 and 6. Visakhapatnam is a big place, but Dwaraka Nagar is one of those areas everyone knows. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for people to just walk in when they have a question about a design or a building project. At Vasthu Shilpa Architects & Interior Designers, we spend a lot of time surrounded by samples and drawings. It can get a bit messy with all the fabric swatches and floor tiles lying around, but it’s a working office, not a showroom. We don’t go for the slick, polished look you see in magazines. We’re more about the actual work of figuring out how to make a space look decent and function well. Most of us here have been doing this for a long time. We’ve seen the city grow and change, and we’ve worked on all kinds of different buildings. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just show up, talk to people about what they want for their homes or offices, and then try to draw it up. It’s a lot of back and forth, and sometimes we have to tell people things they don't want to hear about their budget or their ideas. But we try to be honest and just get the job done. It's a busy life, but it keeps us on our toes.
