Taj Residency

This place is part of the Port Quarters in Salegrampuram, right in Visakhapatnam. I’ve been staying at H.No.1061 in Block 37 for quite a while now. It’s a Type-I house, so it’s not very big, but it’s home for us. Living in this part of Vizag means you’re always close to the port activity. You can hear the sounds of the ships and the trucks moving around at all hours. It’s a busy area, mostly full of people who work for the port or other related jobs near the water. My father, the late M. Srinivas Rao, lived here too. It’s a family thing, staying in these quarters for years. The building is older, and you can see the wear and tear from the salt air since we are so close to the coast. We don’t have fancy stuff here. It’s just a basic house with basic furniture and a small kitchen. I have my phone number listed if someone needs to reach me, though I don’t always answer if I’m busy or out in the local market. The neighborhood is friendly enough, and everyone mostly knows everyone else's business. We share stories and help each other out when the water supply is low or something breaks. It’s a very practical way of living. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s just about getting through the day and making sure everything is taken care of for the family.
