Siva Shanti Restaurant has been standing in Suryabagh for a long time. Our address is Door No 28-10-8, and we are right opposite the old Chitralaya Theatre. This part of Visakhapatnam, the Jagadamba Centre, is always packed with people. Because of the theatre, we get a lot of people coming in right before or after a movie. It’s a fast-paced environment. We have to be quick because no one wants to miss the start of their show. The restaurant itself is a bit old-fashioned. The furniture has been around for a while and shows some wear, but it’s comfortable enough. We don't have a big menu with fancy names. We just serve the things that people in Vizag like to eat every day. The kitchen is tucked away in the back, and you can hear the clatter of plates and the shouting of orders throughout the day. Sometimes the street noise from Suryabagh is so loud you can barely hear the person across the table, but that’s just the character of the neighborhood. Our staff are mostly older men who have worked here for years and know exactly how things are done. They don’t talk much, they just get the food out. We don't try to be something we aren't. We’re just a local spot where you can get a meal without any fuss or waiting around for too long.
