Apna Dhaba

You can find Apna Dhaba right on Beach Road in Visakhapatnam, near the ABC Hospital and across from Indian Bank. Being on the coast, we get a nice breeze sometimes, but it is mostly just a busy road with lots of people going toward the beach. We are a typical dhaba. We do not have air conditioning or fancy waiters. It is just a place where you can get a good plate of food for a fair price. We get a lot of people coming off the beach who are hungry after being in the sun all day. The kitchen is always going, and you can usually hear the pans clanking from the street. We serve a bit of everything, from local dishes to stuff you would find in the north. It is a mix because that is what people ask for. We have plastic chairs and simple tables. We spend our time making sure the food is hot and the water is cold. It gets quite busy in the evenings when everyone is out for a walk along the water. We have had this spot for a while and we have seen the city change quite a bit. But the dhaba stays pretty much the same. It is just a place to eat and relax for a bit before you head home. We are not fancy, just honest. If you are around the beach and hungry, you can just stop in and sit down.
