Red Roast Restaurant

Red Roast is down by Beach Road in the Lawsons Bay Colony area of Visakhapatnam. Being near the coast is nice because of the breeze, but the salt air really does a number on the metal fixtures and the paint. We are constantly having to touch things up. It’s a relaxed part of town compared to the main city center. People usually stop by after they’ve been walking along the shore or sitting by the water. The restaurant isn't very large, but we have enough tables to handle the weekend rush. We started this because we wanted a place of our own near the beach. It’s not a fancy cafe with overpriced coffee, just a normal restaurant. Sometimes the humidity makes everything feel a bit sticky, so we keep the fans on high. We get a lot of regulars from the colony who come in for a quick bite. The kitchen staff have their own way of doing things, and I try not to get in their way too much. We buy our supplies from the local market every couple of days. It’s a simple routine. We don’t have any big mission or vision statements on the wall. We just want to serve the food and make sure the place is open when people are hungry. It’s a decent way to spend the day, looking out towards the sea.
